The vine used to construct this all natural design, called water vine, only grows in mountain jungles on remote islands in the South Pacific. It is challanging to harvest, but once reaped, grows back quickly, leaving no damage in these eco sensitive forests. The water vine is a time consuming to weave but yields a substantially more durable, heat resistant and elegant product.
Each Calaisio piece is hand woven and comes with a statement of authenticity signed by the artisan.
